MOVE=MUSIC was an interactive sound installation at The Turnpike Gallery, Leigh, that invited audiences to explore the relationship between movement, sound, and space. The installation combined projected visuals with a motion-triggered sound environment built around a modular composition. As visitors moved through the gallery, their presence and gestures activated and altered layers of sound, producing shifting variations in rhythm and texture.

Central to the installation was a specially adapted stool, which acted as both a sculptural element and an interactive device. When participants engaged with the stool, their actions triggered further sonic responses, extending the scope of interaction beyond free movement in the space. This dual approach encouraged playful experimentation and employed simple everyday gestures as creative inputs.

The evolving soundscape, generated through these interactions, was never fixed but continuously reshaped by each visitor. This created a collective, participatory experience in which no two encounters were the same.
